Advice for our Walking Tours

The Coiste Irish Political Tours project, want to help you along the way, we have offered some practical advice that should ensure that,  not only do you thoroughly enjoy your tour but you also have a great visit in Belfast.

Meeting Location

Each walking tour begins at Divis Tower which is a 20 storey building on the edge of the city centre at the junction of Divis Street and the Fall's Road.  Please refer to your booking email for time and location.

Practical Advice for your Walking Tour.

Each tour lasts approxatley two and half hours and covers a walking distance -at a leisurely pace-of just over 2 miles. The weather can be unpredictable, so we advise the following:

  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • A Raincoat / mac
  • Layered clothing
  • Camera

Please be advised that you may want to consider public / private transport for getting back to your original destination.

The good news is that you can avail of a complimentary glass of guinness at a nearby Republican Social Club while you ponder over your photographs and make your decisons.

Our guides are more than happy to be of assistance.

The main shopping hours are 9am-5pm with late night shopping on Thursdays. Most shops open at 1.00pm on Sundays. The average cost for a beer is £3.00. glass of wine £3.60.

Belfast has a wide variety of restaurants, which can cater for any budget. Taxis are relatively cheap and cost around £3.50 minimum journey, with £1 for every extra mile there after.

Prominent in most areas are the London style Black Taxis which are very inexpensive to use and can be hailed where you like and drop you off where you like en route.
